Maternar em Equilíbrio provides online support in the area of maternal health, focused on clinical clinical exercise during pregnancy and the postpartum period, conducted by a Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing, as well as online and home support for pregnant and postpartum women by a Specialist Nurse in Maternal and Obstetric Health (EESMO).
Services may include, among others:
- Online follow-up consultations
- Guidance on clinical exercise during pregnancy
- Support in postpartum recovery
- Education for maternal health and well-being
- Personalised clinical exercise recommendations
The services are provided through digital means and online communication platforms.
2. Nature of the services
The services provided by Maternar em Equilíbrio aim to promote the health, well-being, and functional recovery of women during pregnancy and postpartum through clinical exercise and specialised professional advice.
However, these services:
- Do not replace medical consultations, medical diagnosis, or emergency care.
- Do not dispense with the follow-up by the attending physician or other healthcare professionals necessary for the individual monitoring of each pregnant woman.
Before starting any exercise programme during pregnancy or postpartum, it is recommended that the user obtains authorisation or advice from her attending physician and undergoes an individual clinical assessment session with a nurse from Maternar em Equilíbrio.
3. User responsibility
By using the services of Maternar em Equilíbrio, the user commits to:
- Providing true and complete information about her health status.
- Informing about any relevant medical condition, pregnancy complications, or physical limitations.
- Following professional guidelines responsibly and within her physical limits.
- Stopping the exercise and seeking medical advice in case of abnormal symptoms or discomfort as conveyed by the Maternar em Equilíbrio team.
The practice of physical exercise, even if safe at home, involves some inherent risks, for which the user assumes responsibility for her participation.
4. Online consultations and support
The services are provided remotely through digital communication platforms.
Although maximum rigour and professional support are ensured, the user acknowledges that:
- Online consultations may have limitations compared to face-to-face assessment, situations that are also conveyed by the Maternar em Equilíbrio nursing team whenever justified.
- Technical failures, internet interruptions, or connection problems beyond the control of Maternar em Equilíbrio may occur.
5. Confidentiality
All personal information and health data shared during consultations are treated with strict confidentiality, in accordance with:
- the ethical standards of the nursing profession
- the General Data Protection Regulation(RGPD)
6. Intellectual property
All content provided by Maternar em Equilíbrio, including:
- clinical exercise plans
- educational and informative materials
- videos
- documents (ebooks, educational materials for courses or workshops)
- website and social media content
are the property of the Maternar em Equilíbrioproject and are protected by intellectual property legislation.
Reproduction, distribution, or use for commercial purposes of these contents without prior authorisation is prohibited.
7. Limitation of liability
Maternar em Equilíbrio cannot be held responsible for injuries, complications, or consequences arising from:
- non-compliance with professional guidelines
- incorrect performance of clinical exercises
- omission or provision of incomplete or incorrect health information
- performing exercise without medical authorisation when this is strictly necessary
8. Changes to the terms
Maternar em Equilíbrioreserves the right to update or change these Terms of Service whenever necessary.
The changes take effect from their publication on the website.
9. Applicable law
These Terms of Service are governed by Portuguese legislation..
Any dispute arising from the interpretation or application of these terms will be submitted to the jurisdiction of the district of Lisbon, to the exclusion of any other.
